North Road WardYour North Road Ward CouncillorsFred Lawton has lived in Darlington for forty years. He was elected to the Council as a Liberal Democrat for North Road ward in a by-election in 2004 and re-elected in the local elections of May 2007. Fred is a strong believer in justice and fairness for the individual, locally and internationally. He is an active supporter a number of charitable organisations, including War on Want and Amnesty International, which provide assistance and support to individuals and groups throughout the world. He is the Darlington Liberal Democrat Group Education spokesman. Mike Barker was elected to Darlington Borough Council as a councillor for North Road ward in May 2007. Mike is the Parliamentary Spokesman for Darlington Lib Dems. He is the local spokesman on neighbourhood, community and constitutional issues. Mike was the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate in Stockton South Constituency in the May 2005 General Election. He led the successful "Say No to Tesco in Darlington" campaign in 2006. Mike owns "The Health Warehouse" on Post House Wynd.
