Tom Hodgson shows Parliamentary Candidate Mike Barker where the new dropped kerbs will be
A resident who was unable to cross Springfield Road to Springfield Post Office in his motorised scooter asked us for help.
The Haughton West Lib Dem team managed to persuade the Council that it was unacceptable that the resident could only get to the Post Office by leaving his scooter on Springfield Road and walking slowly with the aid of sticks across the road.
As a result, dropped crossings will be constructed across Springfield Road at the junction with Wylam Avenue and across Locomotive Street at its junction with Springfield Road. This is great news for disabled residents and yet more evidence of the effective and successful work being carried out by our team in Haughton West
