At Harrowgate Hill School, the congestion in the back lane at drop-off and collection time continues to cause real problems for parents, pupils and local residents.
The Council Highways Department is still dithering about introducing a new traffic scheme in the back road leading to the school.
The school is to gain an extra 105 pupils over the next few years, which will increase the traffic problems. Councillor Anne-Marie Curry raised this with the Labour Cabinet. Their response was to deny there is a problem!
Councillor Mike Barker recently took a senior Council officer on a visit to the site during the afternoon collection time. He was able to see the chaos for himself. Now, councillors from North Road and Harrowgate Hill wards have been invited to a briefing from the Highways Department on a possible way forward to try to solve this problem.
