Recently a footpath at the back of The Station pub in Hurworth Place has been sealed off with barbed wire to prevent access to the fields behind the woods.
A planning application has also been submitted for a stable building and landscaping works in the fields near the obstructed footpath.
The blocking of a public right of way is not allowed. The owner of the land should immediately install gates or stiles to allow walkers access to these fields - otherwise enforcement action will be taken.
Several very concerned residents have contacted Martin Swainston over this issue. He will ensure that the public right of way is restored and that any planning applications don't unfairly impact on neighbouring properties.
