Teen shelter welcomed in North Park

North Road Lib Dem Councillors Steve Jones and Fred Lawton were involved in starting the Friends of North Park group and obtaining the original grants.
Cllr Jones is Chair of the Friends. "We realised there were no facilities for young people in the area. So we asked the youth section of the group what they wanted. A Teen Shelter was something they asked for. This was within our original budget, so we went ahead. Other things will follow as funds become available, not only for young people but for all age groups. We want local people to take ownership of the Park; it's the biggest recreational asset in the area."
