Children corralled into Eastbourne School

Anecdotal evidence reaching us suggests that great pressure is being placed on parents of children in their final year in feeder primaries to Eastbourne School. As originally revealed on this website, parents are voting with their feet and refusing to send their children to Eastbourne School, leading to a large number of surplus places there.
The evident failings in the Council's education policies are having an adverse effect on the education of our children. They are now being corralled into Eastbourne School - where many of their parents just do not want to send them - in a blatant attempt to shore up the crumbling edifice of Darlington's secondary education system.
We repeat our call for a thorough and independent review of secondary education in Darlington - open-minded and inclusive - before our children suffer any more.
